In the ruined cemetery in Gorlice, in Southern Poland there is the grave of the tzaddik, a holy master, forgotten years ago by the world. For 30 years now devout Meir Moszkowicz climbs on the top of a quiet provincial town cemetery from crowded Bnei Brak in Israel. Gorlice is a place, where the meaning of life revealed to Meir along with the mystic presence of his beloved master. So he takes care of master’s grave and the cemetery, he befriends the locals and when he returns to Israel each day wakes up thinking about its holy place. "Yortzeit" tells the miraculous story of the sage, who embarks with love, faith and joy on a difficult trip to Poland.

Zuzanna Solakiewicz

Writer and director. She graduated in Humanities, University of Warsaw. Between 2005 and 2009 lived in Israel and studied film directing at the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School in Jerusalem. Completed an internship at the Lodz Film School

Her feature-length creative documentary “15 corners of the world” won Festival del film Locarno 2014 – Critic’s Week Award, Best Documentary Award at Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival, and many others.
