DOCUMENTARIES AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN OCTOBER

Even though it's getting cold outside, the festivals start to heat up. In October Polish documentary films will be shown in the UK, Russia, Mexico and many other countries. Check out which festivals invited our productions.

Dust” by Jakub Radej will be presented at Curtocircuito International Film Festival, which began in September in Spain. Radej’s short documentary will also visit in October DokumentART Festival in Germany, Kaoshiung Film Festival in Taiwan, Filmets Badalona in Spain and Astra Film Festival in Romania. In the program of Astra, apart from “Dust”, there is also “Hugo” directed by Wojciech Klimala.

Also in September Reykjavik International Film Festival began in Iceland. The audience in Reykjavik will see “Over the limit” by Marta Prus. This documentary in October will also be shown at Ânûû-rû Âboro Festival in New Caledonia and at Doclisboa in Portugal.

Two Polish documentaries will premiere at Doclisboa: “Komodo Dragons” by Michał Borczuch and “Guest” by Sebastian Weber.

Two Polish films will be shown in October in Russia. “The Beksińskis. A Sound and Picture Album” was invited to Docu-Mental festival, and “Two Worlds” by Maciej Adamek will go to Zero Plus IFF.

At the beginning of the month Religion Today Film Festival will take place in Italy where the audience will see “Land of the Homeless” by Marcin Janos Krawczyk, while in Croatia Split Film Festival will present “Too-Tash” by Dariusz Sipowski. The film can be also seen at Madrid Film Festival in Spain.

A lot of screenings await this month “Volte” by Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała. This short documentary will be shown at BFI London FF in the UK, Indie Cork in Ireland, 15 Short Film Festival in the USA and CinEast in Luxemburg. At CinEast the audience will also see “Call Me Tony” by Klaudiusz Chrostowski, “Opera about Poland” by Piotr Stasik and “The Sisters” by Michał Hytroś. The last one in also in the program of Riga International Film Festival in Latvia and Seminci in Valladolid. The latter festival will also show a short documentary “Their Voices” by Eri Mizutani. Also in Spain, but at In-Edit Barcelona, the audience will see “Leocadia’s Dream” by Krzysztof Nowicki and “Ethiopiques – Revolt of the Soul” by Maciej Bochniak.

Polish documentaries will also visit Mexico – “Collection” by Marcin Polar and “Desert Coffee” by Mikael Lypinski were included in the DocsMX program. In Turkey at Istanbul International Architecture and Urban Films Festival a documentary film directed by Jacek Link-Lenczowski “The Idea Is Paramount. The Architectural Passions of Andrzej Wajda” will take part in the competition.
