REX Animation Film Festival was founded in 2015 in Stockholm. Since then each year the festival audience has been having four days to watch the most interesting short and feature animations from all over Europe. The films presented in the program represent various techniques, styles and genres.
The festival's name is not random – the winning animations receive a statuette reminding the popular dinosaur. This year one of the golden prehistoric reptiles can go to a Polish animator. Polish animation will be represented by three films: "Chainlets" by Alicja Błaszczyńska, "Beside Oneself" by Karolina Specht and "Pussy" by Renata Gąsiorowska.
"Pussy" is a story of a young girl who spends an evening alone at home. She decides to have some sweet solo pleasure session, but not everything goes according to plan.
Błaszczyńska's tells a story of five people who are perceived as weirdoes. What if their compulsions and obsessions have more sense than anyone would think? Perhaps they know something about the world that the rest of the people simply cannot see…
"Beside Oneself" is a short animation about how sometimes we really want to see in someone somebody else and how easy it is to be beside oneself when our ideas get confronted with reality.
