Kortfilmfestivalen / The Norwegian Short Film Festival is a film festival dedicated to short films from around the world, which has been held for 45 years. Every year, its program features fiction shorts and documentaries, as well as a section devoted to music videos.
This year, the award for best short film went to Monika Proba. The main character of the victorious Light Years is Vitali, who has been dreaming of becoming a priest since he was a child. He’s only one step away – in accordance with the rules of the Orthodox Church, he must find a wife. Waiting for the changes, he rents an apartment together with a friend from the seminary. In two small rooms, among books and icons, they build their own world – outside of time and the rules of everyday life. Years pass and Vitaly’s family in Belarus is still waiting for a priest. The film is produced by Studio Munka.
