SHORTS: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” IN THE DUBLIN IFF PROGRAMME

Aleksander Pakulski's short fiction film 'Happy Birthday!' is set to screen at the Dublin International Film Festival, one of Ireland's most significant film events.

Happy Birthday! is a student film produced at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School, University of Silesia. It tells the story of Bogdan who, at the request of his wife Wiktoria’s therapist, agrees to help her organise a birthday party for their deceased
son – a gesture intended to help her come to terms with her loss. Weighed down by his own unresolved grief, Bogdan himself sees that he’s gradually losing the strength to support his wife.

The film will be presented in the special section “Isn’t It Fantastic?” dedicated to international genre shorts spanning horror, science fiction, fantasy, and thriller.

The Dublin festival runs from 19 February to 1 March. You can find out more about its programme here.
