DOCS: „THE QUEEN AND THE SMOKEHOUSE”, „SILVER” AND „THE TUNERS”AT DOCS MX IN MEXICO

No fewer than three films represented by KFF Sales have been selected for the official program of the 21st edition of DocsMX—one of the most important documentary film festivals in Mexico. The program includes “The Tuners" by Paweł Chorzępa, “Silver” by Natalia Koniarz, and “The Queen and the Smokehouse” by Iga Lis.

DocsMX is one of the most important events dedicated to documentary film in Mexico and Latin America. Held since 2006, the Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival is an independent cultural organization that carries out year-round activities focused on the presentation, education, and promotion of non-fiction cinema. The festival combines competitive screenings with educational programs and initiatives aimed at developing new audiences, and its activities extend beyond Mexico to include collaborations with partners in Latin America and Spain. This year’s 21st edition of DocsMX will take place October 22–30, 2026.

The Fragmentos internacionales program, dedicated to international short films, will feature Paweł Chorzępa’s “The Tuners”. The film, represented by KFF Sales, is yet another Polish title strengthening its presence at global festivals. Recently, “The Tuners” has received several significant international awards, including the Non-Fiction Best Short Award at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo, the Silver Dragon at the 66th Krakow Film Festival, and The Best Short Film Award at the Bali IFF.

In the Global Docs section, which showcases feature-length documentaries from around the world, two more titles from the KFF Sales catalog will be screened: “Silver” by Natalia Koniarz and “The Queen and the Smokehouse” by Iga Lis. These two titles are also doing very well internationally. Since its international premiere in Jihlava, “Silver” has already been screened at nearly 30 festivals and won eighteen awards.“The Queen and the Smokehouse,” meanwhile, has screened at the 69th San Francisco IFF, True/False, FIPADOC, and goEast, where it received an award. The inclusion of three productions from the KFF Sales catalog in the official DocsMX program marks another important milestone on their international festival journey.
