Initiated in 1993, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary film festival on the American continent. It takes place every year in spring, and film screenings are accompanied by international film market and industry conferences. This year's edition, the 23rd one, is held from April 27 to May 7.
This year, six Polish productions are included in the programme of the festival, and as many as four of them will be shown in the section "Shorts," the short productions which will be shown in Canada are: "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska, "Goran the camel man" by Marcin Lesisz, "Volte" by Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała and "Urban Cowboys" by Paweł Ziemilski.
In addition, "Communion" by Anna Zamecka will appear in the section World Showcase, whereas "Photon" by Norman Leto will feature in the programme Nightvision.
It is worthwhile to remind that the work-in-progress by Vita Maria Drygas, the film "War Watchers," will also appear in Canada. The work-in-progress will be shown at Hot Docs Forum, and you can read more information about the event in our previous news bulletin.
The full programme of the festival is on the website of Hot Docs.
