"Strange Case" by Zbigniew Czapla won the Silver Dragon award in the Polish competition and the Silver Hobby-Horse in the international competition.
The animated film by Zbigniew Czapla is a surrealistic journey, a kind of internal monologue, filled with personal reflections and memories. "What is the point of all this?" the protagonist keeps on asking, wondering about the meaning of human life. In a freely flowing stream of consciousness, he returns to events which influenced him: love, growing up or the episodes of contemporary history. A kaleidoscope of memories, thoughts and reflections is shown by using rapidly changing painter's visions. Subtle brush strokes and patches of colour are complemented by turbulent music, which sends a shiver down your spine.
