After the recent success at 17th Lessinia Film Festival in Bosco Chiesanuova, where Piotr Złotorowicz received the first award, "Charcoal Burners" is again triumphing in Italy – this time at Con i minuti contati – International Short Film Festival. Moreover, Złotorowicz’s etude was also recognised as the best documentary film at Canadian Cabbagetown Short Film & Video Festival. "Charcoal Burners" has already received 21 awards!
The film directed by Złotorowicz, the student of Polish National Film School in Łódź, is a short story about Marek and Janina, who work every summer in Bieszczady Mountains burning charcoal. We observe their everyday activities from dawn to dusk. Far from civilization, the protagonists live a simple, unhurried life, the rhythm of which is dictated by nature.
