ANIMATED „NOISE” AWARDED IN FRENCH BREST

Yesterday evening the 27th edition of Brest Short Film Festival reached the end. This year the festival’s jury awarded the only Polish film of the competition – “Noise” by Przemysław Adamski.

For many years now the French festival screens the films in frames of three competitive categories – European, French and “Cocotte Minute” sections. Animated “Noise” made its way straight to the Very Short Film competition called “Cocotte Minute” that screened this year 13 titles without dialogue, lasting less than 10 minutes that were made all across the Europe. The jury announced the triumph of “Noise” that received the award for the Best Film of the competition and the assurance that the short will be bought by Canal+. The award in Brest is the second statuette for Adamski’s animation that late September received the main award of Fantastic Film Festival in Swedish Lund.

The narration of Przemysław Adamski’s animation develops according to invisible paths set by the sounds. The reality is described by the system of diagrams, and mutually interactive physical systems, that vibrate each according to its own inner rhythm and pace. Here sounds meet their physical reflection, then growing one by one they fill up the space. In the labyrinth of everyday actions sounds emerge as obstacles in the protagonist’s life, who seeks the refugee from this acoustic, urban jungle. Inspired by George Berkley’s philosophy “Noise” is a dynamic analysis of reality that brings together such elements as physics, acoustics and imagination. Film was produced in frames of “Young animation” launched by Munk Studio.

It is worth to mention there was another Polish film screened in frames of Animation Panorama section –  an awarded “The Game” by Marcin Janiec.
