On 11TH July, the 24th edition of the International Film Festival in Pärnu, Estonia, began. In the competition program there are seven Polish documentaries, among them “Chemo” by Paweł Łoziński, nominated for the Grand Prix, that is, the main prize of the festival given by the international jury.

The film festival in Pärnu, organized since 1987, is the oldest and largest festival in Estonia, promoting only documentary cinema – but diverse and vivid thematically. For several years, Polish films have been present at the festival. Even more, some of them got the highest laurel given by the international jury, the Grand Prix, among others, in 2008 – “Gugara” by Andrzej Dybczak and Jacek Nagłowski, in 2007 – “The Seeds” by Wojciech Kasperski, and in 2002 – “I will not leave you until I die” by Maciej Adamek.
