The guiding principle behind One Country, One Film is to present the broadest possible spectrum of short films; accordingly, only a single title from each country is chosen for the selection. This year, films from 40 countries will be screened.
Poland will be represented by Bacewicz x Bomsori, which tells the story of the outstanding South Korean violinist Bomsori Kim as she prepares to perform Grażyna Bacewicz’s Polish Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra live at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław on 7 March 2025. In discovering the piece, the violinist also gets to know the composer herself much better. The film is an intimate portrait of a violinist and musician who sacrifices a great deal in the name of art and music.
Directed by Jakub Piątek, the film was produced by PWM (Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne) and Telemark.
The 17th edition of the festival is going to take place from 6 to 21 March in Apchat, France. You can read more about the festival here.
