This documentary, which takes a look behind the scenes of one of the world’s most prestigious piano competitions and follows the work of elite piano tuners during the Chopin Competition, has captured the attention of selectors from the outset thanks to its precise observations and the universal theme of the pursuit of perfection. The film had its world premiere at FIPADOC and has already been screened in Tampere and Grimstad, among other places, gradually building its international profile.
In the first half of June, the film will have its US premiere at the DC/DOX festival. The selection for DC/DOX confirms the film’s growing standing in the documentary circuit. The festival, held in Washington, is a rapidly growing event dedicated to non-fiction cinema, presenting over a hundred films from around the world and championing bold voices and innovative visions.
Meanwhile, participation in the Bali International Film Festival in early June opens up Asian audiences and the international market to “The Tuners”. Balinale is one of the most important film events in Indonesia, holding Oscar®-qualifying status in the Best Short Film category and bringing together filmmakers and audiences from around the world. The festival is known for promoting original storytelling and building a global network of contacts for filmmakers. The film will be screened as part of the international competition and will have its Asian premiere.Further selections confirm that “The Tuners” is successfully reaching international audiences and festival programmers, cementing its position as one of the most intriguing Polish short documentaries of recent months.
Adding to its prestige is the fact that its Polish premiere will take place during the upcoming 66th Krakow Film Festival, where the film will represent Poland in the International Short Film Competition.
