DOCUMENTARY „THE COVERSATION” AWARDED IN TIRANA

The ninth edition of International Film Festival in Tirana brought first international success to documentary etude by Piotr Sułkowski. Last Saturday sixteen minutes long “The Conversation” scored the award for the Best Short Documentary Film.

Piotr Sułkowski made his film at Polish National Film Schol in Łódź where he is now studying film directon.  “The Conversation” is a documentary story about two people who despite being strangers share a similar fate.  Janusz is serving life imprisonment. Agnieszka was sentenced to 25 years in prison. They became acquainted eight years ago through letters they wrote. Until this film they have never seen each other before.  

This year three Polish short films were screed in the competitive section of the festival – apart from the above mentioned “The Conversation”, also “Glasgow” by Piotr Subbotko and “Barbican” by Bartek Żmuda were selected. Polish cinematography marked its presence also in the feature full length competition where ”Vanishing” by Adam Uryniak was screened.
