EAGLES NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

Nominations for the Eagles - Polish Film Academy Awards, a.k.a. "Polish Oscars", were announced on February 6th. Three films will compete for the best documentary award: "Opera about Poland" by Piotr Stasik, "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus and "The Prince and the Dybbuk" by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski.

Polish Film Awards were founded in 1999, yet only in 2013 category for best Polish documentary film has been created. The award went in previous years to: "Man at War" by Jacek Bławut, "Another World" by Dorota Kędzierzawska, "Warsaw Uprising" by Jan Komasa, "The Actress" by Kinga Dębska and Maria Konwicka, "Communion" by Anna Zamecka and "21 x New York" by Piotr Stasik.

This year the jury members have selected three films, from all documentary productions, that were nominated to the Awards. The Eagle for best documentary film can go to, "Opera about Poland" by Piotr Stasik, "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus and "The Prince and the Dybbuk" by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski.

"Over the Limit" and "The Prince and the Dybbuk" received one more nomination for the Polish Film Awards. Apart from the documentary competition the films are also nominated in the Best Editing category.  

The Eagles Award Ceremony will take place on March 25th.
