“The Dragon Spring” tells a story about passion and fighting against adversity. The main character of the movie – 25-year-old Pawel, dreams of becoming a coach of Arsenal London. But it’s a long way to go. For now instead of the dreams is the brutal reality.

As an inexperienced, young coach in Poland, where story plays out, Pawel has nothing to do with Arsenal’s glory. Contrary. The first independent job he is undertaking is coaching Red Dragons, the worst football team in the whole country.

But it doesn’t matter for him. Young coach is extremely motivated. Unfortunately very soon he faces serious obstacles. Only two or three players show up to the training sessions. Moreover, the relationship with club’s president, quite good at the beginning starts to heavily degrade. Pawel realizes that the job he undertook is more demanding than he expected…

“The Dragon Spring” is a sports drama about harsh and ruthless rules of sport but sport is not one and only subject of this movie. “The Dragon Spring” is a much more. It’s a universal and powerful story about dreams and dreamers, about losers who never give up, about fighting against adversity of the fate, about friendship and solidarity.

This is a thrilling voice which tells, that even if we are at the bottom, we can be the winners at the end of the road. Everything is up to us. Especially our own life…

Football is more than a sport. It’s a religion. All over the world, on all of the Earth’s continents millions of people play football. Brwiny Red Dragons do it as well. Although the results they achieve are quite mediocre, it does not deprive them of hope that their fate will change one day. “The Dragon Spring” tells the story about this team and their coach Paweł, a man whose goal is to get The Dragons up from their knees. „The Dragon Spring“ is the story about outsiders and their pure and impeccable passion for life. In a wider perspective this is the story of harsh and frequently ruthless world of football.

Jarosław Wszędybył

Graduate of polish philology. PhD student at the Film and Television Direction Department of Polish National Film School in Lodz. He had been educated by the giants of Polish documentary: Kazimierz Karabasz and Lidia Zonn. He works in both – fiction and documentary as well. Apart from filmmaking activities he is a lecturer at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw.
