This year, the Mexico City-based DocsDF festival will be held between October 24 and November 3. Despite the fact that it’s only the eighth edition of the DocsDF, it is the oldest documentary festival in Mexico. Since its first edition it has been constantly expanding and broadening its scope by adding new thematic series and events adressed to the documentary film circles, such as DocsForum and DocsDF Challenge.

As many as five Polish films have been qualified for DocsDF this year. In the Best Documantery for TV competition ‘Entangled’ by Lidia Duda and ‘In the Eye of God’ by Wojciech Królikowski will contend for prizes. Diana Aszyk’s ‘God’s Lake’ has made its way into the Best International Short Film competitive section. ‘The Whistle’ by Grzegorz Zariczny and ‘Mundial. The Highest Stakes’ by Michał Bielawski will participate in the Doctubre competition.

It is worth reminding that Poland was a special guest at the DocsDF last year. Mexican audience had the opportunity to get to know a large selection of Polish documentaries. A review of films by Polish laureates of Krakow Film Festival entitled ‘Masters from Krakow’ was organized as a part of the DocsDF and the latest titles were included into the ‘Young Talents’ programme. Also, a significant number of Polish documentary filmmakers and film industry experts came to Mexico. They discussed specificities of documentary film production and attended a meeting with the audience.
