La Truca Internacional Animation Festival was established in 2011. It is an event which is entirely dedicated to the animated film. In addition to film screenings, the participants of the festival take part in workshops, lectures, discussion panels, exhibitions and meetings with animated film-makers.
The programme consists of several parts, but the most important ones are the two competition sections. In one of them, films made by professional film-makers compete for the awards, whereas in the second one – the films made by students. In the first of the aforementioned competition, the award went to Marta Pajek for her animated film “Impossible Figures and Other Stories II.”
The protagonist of the award-winning film is a woman who stumbles and tumbles during everyday hustle and bustle. When she gets up, she discovers that her house has unexpected characteristics – it is built of paradoxes, filled with illusions and covered with formulae. The film was produced by the studio Animoon.
