INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE OF “WALKING SPARK”

On the 9th of July the 14. GOLDEN APRICOT Yerevan International Film Festival has began. Among the films presented in the international competition we can find two Polish documentaries: Walking Spark by Marcin Kopeć and Daniel by Anastazja Dąbrowska.

“Walking Spark” is the second, after school film entitled “6 Films about Love”, documentary directed by Marcin Kopeć. So far “Walking Spark” has been screened in Poland only, but it already received a Bronze World Medal at the New York Festivals in the Television – Documentary/Information Program category. This time, in the capital city of Armenia, it will have a chance to compete for jury's attention as well as the main award and for the first time it will be confronted with the taste of the audience from different part of the world.

The main protagonist of the film, Piotr, is a former member of Warsaw mafia, who after being released from prison, decides to try and change himself for the better. We watch the protagonist, who takes his first steps into normal society, struggling with his weaknesses but at the same time glorifying his gangster past.

Between 14th and 16th of July Marcin Kopeć will visit Armenia to present his film in person at GOLDEN APRICOT Yerevan International Film Festival.
