Morocco Shorts International Film Festival was held on 22–24 June 2022 in Rabat under the slogan “Voices of Young Africa and the World”. Prizes were awarded by a jury composed of Rachid Kasmi, Sonia Okacha, and Merieme Addou. The festival aims to present young cinema and connect young filmmakers with Moroccan audiences.
The short fiction film Liberty by Joanna Różniak also competed for the awards, but it was Klaudia Kęska’s production that ultimately won in its category.
The awarded Last Days of Summer is a story about a well-off family that owns a vineyard. The summer idyll is interrupted by an assault on one of its young seasonal workers – Yana. Only one person can confirm the victim’s account: her friend Tosia. The teenager has to face a difficult moral choice between seeking justice and protecting her loved ones. What will she choose? The film was produced at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School.
