In the International Documentary Competition judged by the jury led by Sergey Dwortsevoy, the verdict was surprising as the Silver Horn was given not to one but two films – „Father and son” by Paweł Łoziński and „Father and Son on a Journey” by Marcel Łoziński. The Łozinski’s at the beginning planned to co-direct the film however at the stage of the editing it turned out that they cannot find the common way of putting the film together thus decided to split and make two versions of the very same story. However the Jury considered both films as one, bonded and complementary film experiment. The Golden Horn of the very same competition went to Tora Mårtens for her „Colombianos“ (Sweden, Finland).
The jury of the National Competition led by Adam Sikora have chosen „Love” by Filip Dzierżawski as the Best Film of the Competition. The very same film immediately became the favourite of Krakow’s audience that presented the documentary by Dzierżawski with the People Choice Award. The Silver Hobby-Horse for the Director of the Best Documentary Film went to Bartosz M. Kowalski for his “A dream in the Making” “for taking an analytical look at the inhabitants of a Warsaw housing complex. It’s a brutal, full of aggression story about an escape from the margins of society into the territory of the ‘normals’”. Piotr Stasik received a Special Mention for his “A Diary of a Journey”. The President of TVP SA (Polish Television) Award for the Best Cinematography went to Mateusz Skalski for his cinematography for “A dream in the making”, while the President of the Association on Polish Filmmakers Award was handed over to Agnieszka Elbanowska – the director of “The Love Equation of Henry Fast”.
