Also the productions from outside Europe will be presented – Canada, USA, Nicaragua, Singapore or Japan – each of these countries has at least one film in competition.

Jadwiga Głowa, member of the Selection Committee has explained the choice: – We can talk about the return of short films’ heyday. Several pictures managed to get our particular attention: visually beautiful reflection on the purpose of street corrida in Spanish Pamplona in ‘Red Sands’ directed by David Procter; Czech ‘Anatomia gagu”, which consists of theoretical consideration about the nature of a gag and practical part, where jokes come to life; German ‘Wagah” telling the story about military parade on India and Pakistan border from the perspective of children, Hungarian ‘Kishalak… Nagyhalak…’ (‘Small fish, big fish’); or finally ‘Familia 068’ portraying the life of Nicaraguan family. All these films tell about the paradox of our world in touching, concise and visually attractive manner.
