The Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) opens the 10th Industry Section for film professionals. In addition to the 10th East European Forum and the 7th East Silver Market, IDN is going to propose a wide-ranging programme of events, including Inspiring Sessions, Case Studies, One-on-one Meetings, Presentation of Documentary Works-in-progress, Co-production Breakfasts, Networking Dinners, the Silver Eye Awards and Industry Screenings.
This year the Industry Section’s programme includes one-day panel, “Polish Day”, that is devoted to documentary branch in Poland. Kinga Gałuszka from the Polish Film Institute Michalina Fabijańska from Munk Studio – Polish Filmmakers Association will present different ways of financing and supported topics. Marta Golba, as a representant of Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing, and Marcin Malatyński from Polish Film School in Łódź will talk about Polish film schools activities, its successful filmmakers and projects. Katarzyna Wilk from Krakow Film Foundation will devote her lecture to distribution strategy for nische films.What is more, Paweł Łoziński, as the guest of „Inspirational session”, will present the ways of film directing to the young filmmakers.
During the panel “Polish Day” there will be several Polish producers and filmmakers looking for co-production partner or new projects: Mirosław Dembiński (Everest Film Studio), Agnieszka Traczewska (Largo Film Studio), Tomasz Wolski (Kijora) and Marcin Janos Krawczyk.
In addition to this, two Polish documentaries, “The Last Day of Summer” by Piotr Stasik and “La Machina” by Thierry Paladino, will be shown as a part of “Industry Screening”.
„Polish Day” will be held 28th of October, during 7th East Silver Market that is parallel to Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, thanks to the financial support of Polish Film Instiute in co-operation with Krakow Film Foundation.
