POLISH DOCUMENTARIES IN MEXICO

The organizers of the International Documentary Film Festival in Mexico, which will take place from 21st to 31st October, have announced the list of films qualified for the competition program. Among them, there are six Polish films.

It is the fifth time when the Mexican audience will have an opportunity to get acquainted with documentary cinema from around the world. International Documentary Film Festival in Mexico offers a wide variety of films, among which the Polish ones appear almost every year. In 2008, the documentary “The First Day” by Marcin Sauter was not only shown at the festival, but also given the Grand Prix.

During this year’s edition of the Mexican festival, five Polish films will compete for the main prize of the International Short Film Competition:

1. Plain landscape with a cradle, dir. Arkadiusz Biedrzycki

2. A Woman Sought, dir. Michał Marczak

3. Chasm, dir. Wojciech Kasperski

4. Out of reach, dir. Jakub Stożek

5. Where the sun doesn’t rush, dir. Matej Bobrik

Apart from this, the film „An American in the Communist Poland” by Piotr Morawski and Ryszard Kaczyński was qualified for the TV Documentary Competition.
