Apart from French documentary film maker Nicholas Phillibert, this year Marcel Łoziński is the festival’s special guest. During two days, the Finnish audience will have an opportunity to get acquainted with his creative works, as well as learn more about the artist’s workshop during the master class scheduled for Thursday. There will be screenings of the most famous films by Łoziński from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s till “Poste Restante”, recently given the European Film Award.
In addition to that, the organizers of the festival, in cooperation with Krakow Film Foundation, prepared a wide retrospective of the brand-new Polish documentary cinema, to be shown at this year’s festival. The festival audience will have a chance to see “Hear Me Cry” by Maciej Drygas, “Our Street” by Marcin Latałło, “The Second Hand Bookstore” and “ III. Remember the Sabbath Day to Keep it Holy” by Maciej Cuske, “The Clinic” and “The Lucky Ones” by Tomek Wolski, “Chemo” by Paweł Łoziński, “Mother” by Jakub Piątek and “Sentenced for Life” by Marcin Koszałka. The last four artists, present in Helsinki, will talk about their creative work during the meetings within the cycle “Meet the Directors.”
