In Silver through the eyes of a 12-year-old Juvi, we experience life of some inhabitants of the oldest mine in Bolivia, whose deaths weigh as much as the mined silver, confronting the limits of human endurance, and the remanence of history’s bloodstains. A visual statement on the foundations of modern wealth.

Iga Lis received a nomination in the Discovery of the Year category for her film The Queen and the Smokehouse.
In a bustling Polish seaside town, Miecia, known as the local “Queen,” has ruled her smokehouse for over forty years. A beloved community fixture, it is a meeting place, a lifeline for some, and a small empire built on her dedication. Yet when failing health forces Miecia to step back, the future of the smokehouse and of those who depend on it begins to unravel.
The Queen and the Smokehouse was produced at the Munk Studio, which operates under the Polish Filmmakers Association, and its executive producer is Silver Frame. It recently began its international journey with its premiere at the FIPADOC festival in Biarritz.
This year’s ceremony will take place on March 9 at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw.
