„POLISH SPECIAL“ AT THE SPANISH FESTIVAL

ALCINE – Festival de Cine de Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid, with the cooperation with the Krakow Film Foundation and the Polish Culture Institute in Madrid, prepare the special programme dedicated to Polish cinema. The main elements of the event „Polish Special“ will be the screenings of short films.

ALCINE – Festival de Cine de Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid, that will be held from the 5th to the 13th of November 2010 in Alcalá de Henares, is one of the most ancient film festivals in Spain and the most important for short films, as well as a meeting point for Spanish short film buyers and a number of festival programmers, which aims to promote business relations between Spain and the rest of Europe.

Since 4 years the festival is dedicating one of the festival days to the culture of one or several countries. This year the special will be dedicated to Poland. ALCINE will present the best recent Polish films – and especially short films.

The POLISH SPECIAL will be held on Friday the 12th of November and will basically consist of the following elements:

– An extensive programme of the best recent Polish short films drawn up with the support of the Krakow Film Foundation and the Polish Culture Institute in Madrid

– 3 different programmes have been created consisting of the following films:

– A screening of one exceptional debut feature-length film, possibly GALERIANKI by Kasia Roslaniec.

– A concert given by Polish musicians.

– A reception to launch the POLISH SPECIAL hosted by the Polish Culture Institute and the Krakow Film Foundation, supported by the association Polónica based in Alcalá de Henares.

– An exposition of Polish film posters.
