POLISH STUDENT FILM ETUDES AT CAMERIMAGE

Today, the selection of the films to the Student Etudes Competition at the 24th edition of CAMERIMAGE, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography was announced. Among the qualified films, there are Polish productions.

Student Etudes Competition was established in 1997. Its aim is to promote the development of young film students and comparison of the achievements of students from different corners of the world. Every year, several dozen of film schools submit the best student etudes to the competition at Camerimage. The winners are selected by the international Jury consisting of recognised artists from the film industry and other representatives of the world of art and culture.

The author of the cinematography for the best student etude is awarded the Golden Tadpole –  Laszlo Kovacs Student Award. Other awards include Silver and Bronze Tadpoles. In addition, Polish Filmmakers Association will award the winner of the Student Etude Competition a cheque amounting to 10 000 PLN.

In the competition, there is the film "Summer" by Martyna Jakimowska and Karol Lindholm, "Tenants" by Klara Kochańska, "The Return" by Damian Kocur, "Confession" by Eliasz Waszczuk and "Theta" by Magdalena Bojdo.
