The main goal of ÉCU The European Independent Film Festival is to discover and promote independent film productions from all over the world. The organizers are aspiring to be the European equivalent of the American Sundance festival. A place open to new, interesting productions but also accessible to audiences and filmmakers.
This year’s program featured a Polish film by Konrad Kultys. Stagnant was liked so much that it was named the best student film of the event. The protagonist of the award-winning production is Adam, a tough skinhead, who ignores his disability while trying to dominate his loved ones. His caretaking brother’s decision to switch jobs forces Adam to re-examine his situation and face his own limitations.
