There were many who waited with bated breath for the verdict of the national competition. Even though the jury led by Adam Sikora decided to award the Golden Hobby-Horse to the documentary “Miłość” by Filip Dzierżawski, there authours of short films had many reasons to celebrate that evening. The first one to take the stage was Tomasz Popakul who received the Silver Hobby-Horse for the Director of the Best Animated Film Jury decided that “Ziegenort” – “set in the countryside, it’s a malleable story about a growing up buy sunk deep in his own complexes” well deserved the name of the best animated film of the competition. A special mention was handed over to Ewa Borysewicz in recognition of her “To Thy heart”. What is more, Borysewicz scored the Special Mention also in the International Competition – for “capturing the complexity of emotions using simple means in a very distinctive, personal way”. Jędrzej Bączyk and his graduate “Coyote” triumphed in the fiction cathegory. On handing the Silver Hobby-Horse to Bączyk – a graduate of Polish National Film School in Łódź – the jury stated the following – “Cotote” is “an interesting account of growing up and initiation set in a Polish town”. The Special Mention went to Mateusz Głowacki and his “Killing Auntie”.
