ANIM/DOCS: “WE HAVE ONE HEART” WINS AUDIENCE AWARD

Katarzyna Warzecha's animated documentary won the hearts of the audience attending the dotdotdot festival in Vienna.

dotdotdot is a festival dedicated to short films that has been organised in the Austrian capital for several years. The event is held outdoors and features the most interesting short films from around the world.

One of the films presented there was the animation by Katarzyna Warzecha. The audience liked the film so much that it received an award from them. It’s worth remembering that “We Have One Heart” tells the story of Adam. After his mother’s death, he finds letters exchanged years ago by his parents: a Polish woman and a Kurd living in Iraq. It creates an opportunity for Adam to learn more about his father, whom he has never met. The combination of animated drawings and archival materials takes us back almost 40 years into the past, lets us feel the emotions of lovers living in different parts of the world and discover an extraordinary family secret.
