Wojciech Staroń is a recognised director, scriptwriter and cameraman, the winner of many awards, among others, the Silver Bear at Berlinale. His latest documentary film, "Brothers," won the Grand Prix award at the DOK.Leipzig festival – the Golden Dove – and the main award of the section La Semaine de la Critique at the festival in Locarno.
In Florence, in a special retrospective, "The Trades of Cinema 2015: Homage to Wojciech Staroń," the following films by the director will be shown: "Argentinian lesson," "For a while," "El Misionero" and "The Siberian lessons." The viewers at the festival Dei Popoli will also have a chance to see films on which Wojciech Staroń worked as cameraman: "Glass trap" by Paweł Ferdek, "Six weeks" by Marcin Janos Krawczyk, "Cisza, ciemność" by Paweł Kędzierski, and "Refugiade" by Diego Lerman and "El Premio" by Paul Markovtich.
The retrospective is accompanied by meetings with the director. On December 1, Wojciech Staroń will give the master class "The Emphatic Camera" within the frames of the workshops Doc At Work.
