“Rabbit a la Berlin” received the Golden Teeth award

21st Polish Film Festival in America ended in Chicago. This is one of the greatest film events abroad, promoting Polish cinematography. In seven cinemas of the Chicago metropolis there were screenings of 70 animations, documentaries and feature-films.




At the closing ceremony, the audience’s jury, presided by Gordon Alez Quinn, gave the Golden Teeth award. The main prize for the most interesting documentary film went to Bartosz Konopka‘s “Rabbit a la Berlinfor “a great idea and an original, humorous approach to the contemporary history.”

Leszek Gnoiński and Wojciech Słota’s film “Beats of freedom” was given the jury’s special award for “a pioneering presentation of the Polish rock music phenomenon and acknowledging its role in opposing the communist regime.”

The audience’s jury emphasised in its verdict the exceptionally high artistic quality of the films shown at the 21st Polish Film Festival in America.

All awarded films and the most popular pictures chosen in the poll among the audience will be presented on special screenings in the coming days.
