SHORTS: “BEYOND IS THE DAY” WINS IN FRANCE

Damian Kocur's excellent run continues. This time his latest short film won at the International Short Film Festival Tous Courts of Aix-en-Provence in France.

The International Short Film Festival Tous Courts of Aix-en-Provence has been a very successful event for almost 40 years. Each year its organisers conceive an extremely rich and diverse program of short films featuring over 200 films from all over the world.

This year, at the 39th edition of the festival, the jurors Anaïs Tellenne, Bernard Blancan, Diako Yazdani, Anne Parent, and Hasan Ugur decided to award the main prize to Damian Kocur.With black-and-white cinematography and amateur actors in main roles, Beyond is the Day shows the small realism of Poland’s more remote regions. Paweł is a lonely man who works on a small river ferry. Day after day he goes about the same activities until he stumbles upon Mohammad, an illegal immigrant. Paweł decides to help him. Finally, there is someone to talk to.
