Last week Krakow Film Festival finished the selection for its 49th edition. We have received over 2200 documentary, animated and short films. Accordingly Krakow Film Market, which accompanies the Festival, has finished the selection for its 49th edition.

Traditionally, European countries have submitted the biggest number of films. We have received 262 applications from France, 218 submissions have come from Germany and on the third place is Italy with 167 productions. Polish filmmakers, who were triumphant during 48th edition of the Festival, have submitted 153 short fiction films, 45 documentaries and 29 animations.

Krakow Film Festival is an object of interest outside Europe too – great number of submissions comes from USA, Canada, Brazil, India, China and Australia, but also productions from smaller countries like Bahrain, Cambodia, French Guiana or Burkina Faso will be taken into the consideration by Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee has already started to work intensively on choosing films in three categories, for the Polish, International and Feature-length Documentaries competitions. The results of their work will be announced in the beginning of April. The list of films chosen to the competition will be published on our website.
