Mediawave – Another Connection International Film & Music Gathering has been held in the Hungarian town of Kiscsősz for over 30 years, combining cinema with music. In addition to concerts, exhibitions and workshops, the audience gets the chance to see great fiction films, documentaries, animated and experimental films from around the world.
This year, viewers and the festival jurors watched The Wind. A Documentary Thriller by Michał Bielawski. The winning film is focused around the halny foehn wind – one of the most unpredictable forces in the Polish mountains. Most halny occur every spring and autumn. You never know if and when will it turn into a destructive gale. Halny affects the residents of Zakopane and its surrounding area the most, subjecting picturesque mountain trails to nature’s untamed strength.
