THE FILM “TONIA AND HER CHILDREN” BY MARCEL ŁOZIŃSKI TRIUMPHS IN IRAN

From 3 to 9 November in Tehran the sixth edition of the International Documentary Film Festival "Cinema Vérité" took place. Among the award-winning films there is "Tonia and her children" by Marcel Łoziński.

International Documentary Film Festival "Cinema Vérité" is organised by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center – organisation dealing with producing, distributing, and promoting documentary, feature, animated and experimental films. This year in Tehran the sixth edition of the festival took place. The main award of the International Medium-Length Documentary Competition went to "Tonia and her children" by Marcel Łoziński. Jury motivated its verdict in the following way: "The prize was given for the aesthetic and technical superionality in representing victimizing situations in which a person is entangled."

It is worth mentioning that at this year’s edition of the "Cinema Vérité” festival as many as seven Polish films were shown in the competition sections. In the medium-length competition, apart from "Tonia and her children," "Argentinian lesson" by Wojeich Staroń also took part. In the short film competition, the viewers could watch: "3 days of freedom" by Łukasz Borowski, "Paparazzi" by Piotr Bernań, "Heaven" by Jan P. Matuszyński, "A mangle press" by Adrianna Dunin-Wąsowicz-Książek and "Decrescendo” by Marta Minorowicz.
