ANIM: “THIS WILL NOT BE A FESTIVAL FILM” WINS AUDIENCE AWARD

The subversive title and similarly subversive story have caught the jury's attention and delighted the viewers watching Julia Orlik's new film. It was the latter group that decided to present the animated film with the Audience Award at this year's CinEast.

Every year, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival CinEast presents the latest and most interesting films from 20 Central and Eastern European countries. Those attending this 18-day festival can expect more than 60 feature-length productions and approximately 40 shorts. In addition to documentary, fiction, and animated films, the program includes concerts, meeting with special guests, exhibitions, and panel debates.

As usual, this year’s edition also features several Polish films. From features, like audience-favourite fiction film Sonata by Bartosz Blaschke, to shorts like Ada Smyk’s documentary Backstage or the award-winning This Will Not Be a Festival Film by Julia Orlik.
