„A screening at the Tatry cinema” directed by Igor Chojna, the laureate of the Silver Hobby Horse for the director of the Best Documentary Film at last year’s 50th Krakow Film Festival, turned to be successful at the Croatian festival.
A few days ago in San Francisco the International Short Film Festival SF SHORTS came to an end. “Twist and Blood” directed by Kuba Czekaj found itself among the awarded films.
The majority of them not only premiered on the big screen during Krakow Film Festival, but they also left Kraków awarded. Most of the films which captivated international audiences are full-length documentaries. One of them is up for an Oscar, another has already attained success in Locarno. This year, they will be together taking Leipzig over during one of the most important festivals in the world - DOK Leipzig.
The documentary etude "Charcoal Burners" directed by Piotr Złotorowicz is once again among the best - again in Canada and Italy.
"Charcoal Burners" by Piotr Złotorowicz and "The Dog Hill" by Grzegorz Zariczny were awarded at Italian Lessinia Film Festival, which focuses on the topic of mountains.
During the biggest animated film festival in England – London International Animation Film Festival – an extensive Polish animated programme will be screened. Polish films will be displayed to watch between 28th and 29th August.
“Twist and Blood” by Kuba Czekaj was selected as one of thirteen student short films that will be screened at International Film Student Meeting in San Sebastian between 21st and 23rd September.
Documentary etude „Charcoal Burners”, directed by Piotr Złotorowicz, hits new record gaining the 17th award at the international film festivals.
After ten days of screenings on 13th August in Swiss Locarno the laureates of the 64th edition of the festival were finally announced. At the closing gala Grzegorz Jaroszuk’s film received the EFA nomination.
At 5th edition of the Sicilian short film festival Shortini, that came to an end on 7th August, “MC. Man of vinyl” by Bartosz Warwas was awarded a special mention in the international competition.
In the end of July, during the last days of 11th edition of New Horizons International Film Festival the audience chose the best short films of the competition.
The last weekend of July has proved extremely favourable for Polish documentary films. Our compatriots have won awards in Mexico, Kosovo, and… Wroclaw.
Robert Proch’s animation was selected to the competition of Ottawa International Animation Festival. The film, that was already screen in Canada at the turn of May and June at a fortunate Worldwide Short Film Festival, now will take part in the graduation film competition at Ottawa festival.
