The Documentary Film Festival “Cinema Vérite” ended on Tuesday, 17th December in Tehran. The latest documentary by Maciej Drygas “Abu Haraz” won the award for the best full-lenght documentary and “Father and son” – the Special Jury Award.
A documentary “Out of reach” by Jakub Stożek will be featured among six short films screened as a part of the winter edition of Future Shorts Festival. The programme is screened between December and February in 30 cities in Europe and around the world.
Yesterday, on the website of the French festival Clermont-Ferrand the results of this year’s selection were announced. Polish films qualified for two competition sections of this most important short film festival worldwide.
Short documentary by Adam Palenta called “Freestyle life” got yet another award last weekend. The film was awarded by the jury of 31st edition of the sport film festival FICTS FEST Milano, which ended on 8th December in Milan.
Directed by Marcin Bortkiewicz, the film "Left Side of the Face" won an award at Festival dei Popoli, which ended last Saturday. The film was acknowledged by the student jury, by honoring it with the the Syracuse University in Florence Award.
On Saturday evening, the 31st edition of French film festival Tous Courts, which was held in Aix-en Provence since Monday, came to its end. Among this year's prize winners there is a Polish feature etude - "All Souls' Day" by Aleksandra Terpińska.
On Saturday, 30 November, in the Sicilian city of Acireale, the Magma short film festival ended. The jury of the festival have noticed "The Conversation", a documentary directed by Piotr Sułkowski.
Today in the French city of Aix-en-Provence starts the 31st edition of the Tous Courts festival. Apart from the four films in the international competition, the programme also includes two special screenings presenting the most interesting Polish short films of the last few years.
Yesterday, the jury of 26th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam announced the list of films nominated for the awards in seven sections of the festival’s competition. The documentary by Tomasz Śliwiński, “Our curse” is among the nominated films.
The 21st edition of the Camerimage International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography ended yesterday in Bydgoszcz. The main prize of the international competition of student etudes went to “Such a Landscape” made by the students of Łódź Film School Jagoda Szelc and Zuzanna Pyda.
Tonight, at the Arriaga theatre, ends the 55th edition of the Basque ZINEBI festival. The names of this year’s winners have already been revealed. Among them stands Grzegorz Zariczny and his documentary “The Whistle”.
Apart from the awards for fiction films, last weekend also brought the honors for the authors of animated films. Polish animations have been acknowledged by the juries of the Portuguese Cinanima, the Dutch Klik!, the German interfilm and the Mexican CutOutFest.
Yesterday evening, November 17, two important European short film festivals came to an end - The Cork Film Festival in Ireland and Brest European Short Film Festival in France. Juries of both festivals awarded films made by students of Polish National Film School in Łódź.
