The ninth edition of International Film Festival in Tirana brought first international success to documentary etude by Piotr Sułkowski. Last Saturday sixteen minutes long “The Conversation” scored the award for the Best Short Documentary Film.
On 10th December the 29th edition of International Short Film Festival Tous Courts in Aix-en-Provance came to an end. At the Saturday’s closing gala two Polish films scored the awards.
On 11th December the 34th edition of the Rencontres Henri Langlois International Festival of Film Schools drew to an end. At the festival’s closing gala Grzegorz Jaroszuk’s film received two awards.

Yesterday evening Sundance Institute announced the list of 64 short films accepted to the competiton of Sundance Film Festival held next January. In one month “Frozen stories” by Grzegorz Jaroszuk will compete for the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking.

Fourteenth edition of Kyoto International Student Film and Video Festival brought another success to Kuba Czekaj. On Friday, 25th November, director received Grand Prix of the festival for his graduation film “Twist and Blood”.
Eight minutes-long animation made by Agata Prętka scored another award last weekend. Film was screened and awarded at 21st Semana de Cine Experimental in Madrid.
The last weekend has ended with great success not only for Eliza Kubarska, Marcin Koszałka, Wojciech Staoń and Marta Prus, but also for Jakub Stożek whose documentary “Out of Reach” won the prize at RIDM in Montreal.
After recent success in Spain, Austria and Italy, „Declaration of Immortality” by Marcin Koszałka has been awarded at Bristol Encounters International Short and Animated Film Festival.
”What happend on Pam Island” by Eliza Kubarska – a film about one of the most important mountaineering expeditions in recent years – was amongst the best at the Unnim Mountain Film Festival in Spanish Torello.
