At the recently finished International Short Film Festival Almeria en Corto, “Luksus” by Jarek Sztandera – feature-film made as a degree project in the Lodz Film School – received the award for the best film of the festival.
The European Film Awards were given last Saturday in German city Bochum. “Poste Restante” by Marcel Łoziński was awarded the best short-length film.
At recently-finished international short-length film festival Tous Courts in French Aix-en-Provence, “The Echo” - a fifteen-minute-long feature etude by the student of the Lodz Film School Magnus von Horn - won the Grand Prix.
The organizers of the Sundance Film Festival – one of the most important film events in the world – have just announced the list of films qualified for the contest. In the documentary film section “Echo”, the film by Magnus von Horn, school feature film etude from the Lodz Film School will compete for the prize.
DocPoint Helsinki Documentary Film Festival starts on 26th January. Within the frames of the festival, the organizers prepared presentations of nine Polish documentaries and a Marcel Łoziński retrospective.

21st Polish Film Festival in America ended in Chicago. This is one of the greatest film events abroad, promoting Polish cinematography. In seven cinemas of the Chicago metropolis there were screenings of 70 animations, documentaries and feature-films.
Wajda Film School turned 7 years old this year. Because of this, in Warsaw Kino Lab, there will be seven unique film screenings, presenting the most interesting, the most frequently awarded films produced by the School.
“52 percent”, a film that has been awarded many times, received another prize. The film was given MEO Award for the best short-length film at the Estoril Film Festival in Portugal.
This year, for the first time, at the Documentary Film Contest „the Picture of the world” organised in the frames of Documentary Section of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS CAMERAIMAGE, under the patronage of Discovery Networks Central Europe, it was possible to submit applications for two temporal categories: short – and full-length one.
