After a lazy beginning of the year, spring marks a busy time. In March, Polish short films will be shown at 25 film festivals, among others, in the USA, Hong Kong, Finland and Spain. 43 festival screenings are in store for us.
This year's frequency results are not very different from the ones we noted last year. Between January and December 2013, Polish short films were shown at foreign film festivals over 950 times. However, the fact that particularly makes us proud is that in 2013 Polish films were awarded 110 times.
In 2013, Polish documentary films were invited to take part in the festivals around the world almost 480 times, winning over 50 awards, including such prestigious ones as Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance festival. Polish documentary cinema was also the special guest at the Hot Docs festival in Canada, and its latest achievements were shown at the Sunny Side of the Doc market.
