POLISH DOCUMENTARY FILMS AT JI.HLAVA

On the 24th of October, during a press conference, we got to know all the films which are included in this year's programme of the festival IDFA. "Diagnosis" by Ewa Podgórska joined the ranks of other Polish productions, which were announced earlier.
By the end of the month the 16th edition of the Russian festival "Multivision" will begin. Three Polish short animations were included in the competition.
On October 21st the Warsaw Film Festival came to an end. Two Polish productions were among the winners.
The award ceremony of DocsMX Festival took place last weekend in Mexico. A documentary film "Desert Coffee" directed by Mikael Lypinski came back from the festival with a Special Mention.
From October 25th to 28th a selection of Polish films will be presented in Istanbul in the "Poland Now" program, which includes feature films as well as documentaries and shorts.
At the turn of October and November, another edition of Cambridge Film Festival is held. In the competition, there are five Polish short films.
At least seven Polish documentaries will take part in this year's edition of IDFA! Four films will compete for awards in the competition sections and three more will be presented outside the competition.
In the programme of this year's Banjaluka International Animation Festival, there are 10 Polish films. As many as half of them will compete for the awards in the competition.
"Komodo Dragons" - the film debut of Michał Borczuch is a hybrid of documentary observation, spontaneous improvisations and fiction which awakens extreme emotions. Film will have its international prmiere at Doclisboa International Documentary Film Festival in Portugal. Barbara Rusinek talked to the film's director about a different perception of the world.
As many as seven Polish animated films will be shown at this year's Alexandre Trauner Art / Film Festival in Hungary.
On October 29th the 61st edition of DOK Leipzig Festival will begin. This year a strong representation of Polish productions will be present in Leipzig: five films will take part in competitions and three more will be presented in other sections.
As every year, the East Silver Market gives an opportunity to watch over 40 latest documentaries produced or co-produced in Poland. Two of them have been nominated to the Silver Eye awards for the best documentaries shown during the Market.
