On 14 September, the list of ten films competing for the Cinema Eye Honors awards in the Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Short Filmmaking category was announced. Among the shortlisted films, there is also the film by Agnieszka Elbanowska, "Polonaise".
The documentary film "Icon," directed by Wojciech Kasperski, is nominated for the Prix Italia award within the frames of the 69th edition of the festival, this year held in Milan.
On September 15th the 17th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival "Flahertiana" begins in Perm. This year's special guest is Maciej Drygas, who will present his films and give a master class.
On September 19th the next edition of the Encounters Film Festival in Bristol will begin. This year the Festival will be showcasing a great selection of Polish cinema. People in the UK will have a chance to see almost 50 Polish documentary, animation and short fiction films.

Documentary film "The Prince and the Dybbuk" directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski was the only Polish representative at this year's edition of the Venice IFF. It was presented in the Venice Classics Documentary section. The screening was the world premiere. Awards in the Venice Classics sections were given by the Jury consisting of Cinema History students and chaired by a director and screenwriter Giuseppe Piccioni.
On August 27th the Kitzbuehel Film Festival in Austria was officially closed. Daria Woszek came back from the festival with an award for her film "The Dogcatcher".
On August 25th another MakeDox Festival edition came to an end. The main prize went to Piotr Stasik for his film "21 x New York".
On August 7th the Herceg Novi Film Festival came to an end. Grand Prix Award was given to "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska.
