Polish documentary films can boast successes at yet another mountain film festival. On March 13 ended the Dutch Mountain Film Festival, at which the following films were honoured with awards: "K2. Touching the Sky" by Eliza Kubarska and "The Place" by Julia Popławska.
The first rays of spring sun herald the boom in the world of festivals. In March, Polish short films will be watched in special programmes at the festivals "The Fantastic Four" in Turkey and the International Short Film Week Regensburg in Germany.
March will abound in screenings of Polish animated films at the following film festivals.
On March 9, starts the 22nd edition of Regensburg International Short Film Week. Within the frames of the festival, there will be a review of Polish short films. In the section "Focus on Poland," the viewers will see as many as 25 films.
With the beginning of spring, Polish documentary films wake up to the festival life. In March, we will see them, among others, at the festival One World in the Czech Republic and at the Docudays in Ukraine.
2015 brought many successes to Polish short films. Over 300 films were shown in over 1300 festival screenings around the world, winning nearly 150 awards. Polish short film was also the special guest at the festivals Curtas Vila do Conde in Portugal, Summer Film School in the Czech Republic, Cartón in Argentina, and Akbank in Turkey.
2015 was another good year for Polish animated film. During the last twelve months, Polish animated films were shown abroad almost 600 times. Many of these screenings ended successfully, and the months of festival screenings around the world brought filmmakers over 45 awards.
The run of luck for Polish documentary film at mountain film festivals continues. The Grand Prix of Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival went to "K2. Touching the Sky" by Eliza Kubarska.
The documentary film by Paweł Wysoczański can boast yet another award. At the Mountain Film Festival Domžale in Slovenia, "Jurek" was given the Grand Prix award.
On February 14 ended Punto de Vista Film Festival of Navarra. Among the winners, there is Aleksandra Maciuszek, whose film "Casa Blanca" was given two awards.
The animated film SUMMER 2014 by Wojciech Sobczyk was given three awards at the 9th Forum for Animation Films.
In February, the festival in Clermont-Ferrand is held, one of the most important short film festivals, at which one can see three Polish films. Check out where Polish short films appear this month.
This year's edition of the festival in Clermont-Ferrand, the largest European short film festival, begins on February 5. This year, as many as three Polish films are included in the international competition. The latest Polish short films will be also shown at the accompanying film market, where the stall of POLISH DOCS will be established for the tenth time.
