A film „The Whistle” directed by Grzegorz Zariczny has been awarded with the main prize in the Short Length Documentary Competition at Documenta Madrid festival that celebrated its Closing Gala on Sunday, May 12th. Congratulations!
This Tuesday the 59th edition of International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen came to an end. Two from five Polish films screened in the competition were awarded by the international jury.
On Tuesday, May 7th, Oberhausen film festival has ended. A film “Rogalik” by Paweł Ziemilski Has received a Special Jury Mention.
This month Polish short films were selected to precisely seventeen festivals around the world. There are fifty screening in the store for them.
Last weekend another two awards were presented to Polish filmmakers. The fiction “All souls’ day” by Aleksandra Terpińska and animated “Beach” by Paweł Prewencki proved the most celebrated titles of the weekend.
Cannes Film Festival has just revealed this year’s short competitive lineup. Among selected films there are two Polish titiles – “Danse macabre” by Małgorzata Rżanek and “Olena by Elżbieta Benkowska.
The end of last week brought two awards for Polish documentary short films. Their directors – Adam Palenta (“Freestyle life”) and Martin Rath (“Written in ink”) received the awards in New York and Barcelona.
A new award has just joined the pretty long list of awards for Wojciech Staroń’s film. “The Argentinean lesson” has been recognized as the best feature-length film of Panazorean International Film Festival.
The list of films selected to the National Competition of 53rd Krakow Film Festival has been announced. 23 Polish documentaries will compete for the awards. Many of them will have their world premieres in Krakow.
After quite lazy beginning of the year we get to hear more and more about successes of Polish short films abroad. In April one can easily track Polish titiles in the catalogues of 20 foreign film festivals. This month there are nearly forty festivals screenings in the store.
Last week brought another award for Grzegorz Zariczny – the author of documentary “The Whisle”. This time it was the jury of Lithuanian Vilnius Film Festival that expressed their appreciation for the film.
The 59th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will be showing over 450 productions from some 60 countries in around 100 programmes. The festival's mainstay continues to be the five competitions. This year will see the festival showing 131 new works. Five of them were produced in Poland.
On 30th March the second edition of American Hot Media International Film Festival reached its end. At the official closing gala Poles triumphed twice!
