POLISH FILMS AWARDED AT DOCS AGAINST GRAVITY FILM FESTIVAL

The last weekend brought even more awards to Polish animated films. This time Polish films were awarded at the festivals Anifilm, Chilemonos and Golden Kuker.
On May 10 ended the 12th edition of the DocumentaMadrid festival. "Something better to come" by Hanna Polak won the second award in the feature-length documentary competition, and "Starting Point" by Michał Szcześniak - the special mention in the short film category.
Among the award-winners of the Hungarian film festival Mediawave, there are two Polish films! "Milky Brother" by Vahram Mkhitaryan won the Best Short Fiction Film award, and "Knife in the Wife" by Vita Drygas - the Best Short Documentary Film award.
The documentary film by Bartosz Dombrowski was given the award in the Best Editing category at the 44th International Student Film Festival Sehsüchte.
In the programme of this year's edition of the International Documentary Film Festival "Hot Docs" in Canada, there are three Polish documentary films: "End of the World" by Monika Pawluczuk, "The Place" by Julia Popławska and "The Queen of Silence" by Agnieszka Zwiefka. The film directed by Teresa Czepiec was chosen the best short documentary at the International Documentary Film Festival "It's All True" in Brazil.
The latest film by Jerzy Kucia, "Fugue for Cello, Trumpet and Landscape" won the Golden Horseman Animation award at 27th Filmfest Dresden. The festival ended last Sunday, April 19.
"Casa Blanca" by Aleksandra Maciuszek is one of the five Polish documentary films which will be shown within the frames of the Swiss festival Visions du Reel. Two Polish films are among the award-winners of the Go Short festival, which ended last Sunday, April 12. The film "Mother Earth" by Piotr Złotorowicz was awarded with the best student film award, while "Super Unit" by Teresa Czepiec – with a special mention in the documentary film category.
The International Film Festival "Kino Pavasaris" in Vilnius ended on April 2. "Object" by Paulina Skibińska won the Special Mention in the short film competition.
