“DEEP LOVE” TRIUMPHS IN MOSCOW

29th edition of the Spanish festival Cine Jove ended on Friday evening in Valencia. The award for the best short film went to Łukasz Ostalski - the author of “The Mother".
On Sunday evening ended the seventh edition of Fest Anca - the leading Slovakian festival dedicated exclusively to animated films. Among the award-winning films, there are as many as three Polish animated films.
Last weekend, there increased the number of awards won by two Polish films - "The Island" by Katarzyna Klimkiewicz and Dominga Sotomayor, as well as "The Mother" by Łukasz Ostalski. Both films were awarded at the 42nd edition of the festival in Huesca, Spain.
The documentary film by Aneta Kopacz was awarded twice at the recently finished, largest short film festival in the USA - ShortFest in Palm Springs.
On Friday, 20th June, the fifth edition of the Macedonian festival MakeDox came to an end. The festival brought new laurels for the documentary by Aneta Kopacz, "Joanna." The film won the Special Moral Approach Award.
The run of luck at the festivals for Aneta Kopacz continues - the film "Joanna," made by her, won yet another award. The documentary was appreciated by the jury of Egyptian festival Ismailia, who decided to give it the main award in the short documentary film competition.
Last weekend, there increased the number of awards won by the latest film by Martin Rath, entitled "Arena." The film was given the special mention at the 33rd edition of International Film Festival in New Jersey.
On 12th June, the International Documentary Film Festival Sheffield Doc/Fest ended. The film "Our Curse," directed by Tomasz Śliwiński, won the Student Doc Award and the Audience Award at the festival.
Moscow International Film Festival starts on 19th June. This year, the selection committee invited two Polish documentary films to participate in the festival: "Deep Love" by Jan P. Matuszyński will take part in the competitive section, while "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz will be screened in the non-competitive programme.
The 17th edition of the Ismaila International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Egypt ended on Sunday evening. Just like last year, among the award-winners there was a Polish film - "Flora and Fauna" by Piotr Litwin.
"Six degrees" is inspired by Milgram's 'Six degrees of separation' theory with its assumption that every person in the world can be reached through 6 personal connections. The crew tries to explore the chain of connections between two randomly drawn protagonists: a young punk-rock musician from Warsaw, Poland and a farmer from little village in Mexico. Tomorrow in French Annnecy the animation market MIFA will start. The proffessionalsvisiting the market will get the opportunity of meeting Polish producers at the national stand. Polish Animations stand will be open until Friday, 13th June.
