The jury of the Signes de Nuit festival, held in Paris, gave the Signs Award for Documentary to “When I am a Bird” by Monika Pawluczuk. It is the first international award for this film.

MACIEJ DRYGAS – TRIUMPHANT AT THE FLAHERTIANA FESTIVAL
The documentary “Abu Haraz,” directed and produced by Maciej J. Drygas, won two main awards at Flahertiana Film Festival: Grand Prix - the Big Golden Nanook award and the Silver Nanook award, granted by FIPRESCI. The festival was held in the Russian city of Perm from 21 to 28 September.
“DOMINO EFFECT” WINS IN BUDAPEST
Last weekend was particularly successful for Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski. Their documentary film "Domino Effect” won in the Let Me Follow the Call section at the first edition of the Budapest International Documentary Festival.
“OUR CURSE” AWARDED AT LOOK&ROLL FESTIVAL
On 27 September, the festival Look&Roll ended in Olten, Switzerland. Among the festival winners, there is the documentary by Tomasz Śliwiński, "Our Curse," which won the Foundation Denk an mich award.
POLISH FILMS NOMINATED FOR THE SILVER EYE AWARDS
This year, forty films produced or co-produced in Poland will participate in the East Silver Market. Seven of them were nominated for Silver Eye awards for the best creative documentaries of the market.
“JOANNA” AND “VEGAS” ANNOUNCED FINALISTS OF THE CINEMA EYE HONORS AWARDS
On 25 September, the list of ten finalists of the Cinema Eye Honors awards in the Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Short Filmmaking category was announced. On the list, there is the award-winning documentary "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz and the film "Vegas" by Łukasz Konopa, produced in Great Britain.
THE JURY OF FRESH FILM FEST AWARDS TWO POLISH FILMS
Two Polish films - the documentary “When I am a Bird" by Monika Pawluczuk and the graduation film by Paweł Maślona “Magma” were awarded at the 11th edition of the Fresh Film Fest in Prague. The festival was held between 17th and 21st September.
“DARLING” – THE BEST ANIMATED FILM OF THE DRAMA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
On Saturday, the 20th edition of Drama Short Film Festival in ended. The jury of the international competition annouced the German-Polish animated film "Darling" by Izabela Plucińska the Best Animated Film.
POLISH SHORT FILMS IN DRAMA
Today the 20th edition of the Drama Short Film Festival starts in Greece. This year, apart from three Polish films in the competitive section, there are three special screening of Polish short films in the programme. The festival lasts until 20 September.
FOUR POLISH FILMS SELECTED FOR THE COMPETITION OF LONDON IFF
The results of this year's selection of London Film Festival have been revealed. It is now confirmed that four Polish films will compete in short film competition. The 58th edition of the festival will be held between 8 and 19 October.
SEPTEMBER AT FESTIVALS
Though the peak of the autumn festival season falls in October and November, in September, after the holiday break, the number of festival screenings increases. This month, Polish documentary films will be shown in 22 screenings at 11 festivals.
SEPTEMBER AT SHORT FILM FESTIVALS
This month, Polish short films will participate in the programmes of 25 foreign film festivals. There are over 60 festival screenings, among others, in Brazil, Greece, Canada and Great Britain in store for us.
“OUR CURSE” WINS IN MONTERREY
On 31 August, the 10th edition of the Mexican FIC Monterrey festival came to an end. Among the festival winners, there is the film by Tomek Śliwiński, "Our Curse," which was chosen the Best Short Documentary of the International Competition.
