The documentary “Abu Haraz,” directed and produced by Maciej J. Drygas, won two main awards at Flahertiana Film Festival: Grand Prix - the Big Golden Nanook award and the Silver Nanook award, granted by FIPRESCI. The festival was held in the Russian city of Perm from 21 to 28 September.
Last weekend was particularly successful for Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski. Their documentary film "Domino Effect” won in the Let Me Follow the Call section at the first edition of the Budapest International Documentary Festival.

Today the 20th edition of the Drama Short Film Festival starts in Greece. This year, apart from three Polish films in the competitive section, there are three special screening of Polish short films in the programme. The festival lasts until 20 September.
The results of this year's selection of London Film Festival have been revealed. It is now confirmed that four Polish films will compete in short film competition. The 58th edition of the festival will be held between 8 and 19 October.
Though the peak of the autumn festival season falls in October and November, in September, after the holiday break, the number of festival screenings increases. This month, Polish documentary films will be shown in 22 screenings at 11 festivals.
This month, Polish short films will participate in the programmes of 25 foreign film festivals. There are over 60 festival screenings, among others, in Brazil, Greece, Canada and Great Britain in store for us.
On 31 August, the 10th edition of the Mexican FIC Monterrey festival came to an end. Among the festival winners, there is the film by Tomek Śliwiński, "Our Curse," which was chosen the Best Short Documentary of the International Competition.
